"They came as a crew of 8 hardworking individuals, and worked for a day and a half!! The owner and sales manager were very informative & helpful, even after their work was complete. They even helped us find a different mold testing company who had more reasonable rates for the final Clearance Test."

Mold Remediation Services You Can Rely on
The humid climate in Louisiana makes all of our homes and business properties perfect breeding grounds for mold and mildew growth.
Lafayette’s proximity to the bay, warm and humid weather, and rich plant life all lead to mold, which hundreds of households in the area struggle with on a monthly basis.
If you’ve got mold in your home or business, the first thing you should do is get it tested.
Mold testing helps determine exactly what type of mold you’re dealing with (which is important because some mold types are more hazardous than others).
Once you do that, call Superior Contract Cleaning for a mold remediation and abatement service.

Is Mold Dangerous?
In short, yes, especially for children, the elderly, or those with allergies or asthma.
Here are some of the mold symptoms you can experience:
- Coughing or sneezing
- Itchy skin
- Sore throat
- Red eyes
- Chronic fatigue
- Persistent cold-like symptoms
- Worsened asthma or allergic reactions
- Respiratory conditions
After these, we start to get into the most severe symptoms that can affect those with weaker immune systems, like lung bleeding or neurological damage.
It’s best to remove mold right away to avoid even the slightest chance of contracting a mold disease.
What Caused Mold to Grow?
Bad news. If you’ve got an extensive mold infestation, it likely means that you have a leak somewhere or another source of water that led to the damage.
Mold requires moisture to survive. If there’s a lot of moisture, mold may not be present already, but it will grow rapidly, eating up all surfaces near it.
What surfaces can the mold damage?
All organic surfaces – your drywall, insulation, hardwood flooring, carpets, and others – can be consumed by mold. This fungi uses cellulose for energy, and the more of it mold consumes, the more it will grow.
Can mold devalue a house?
Absolutely, yes. Mold can have a detrimental impact on home value, with depreciations possibly reaching up to 37%[1].
Leaks in a home do not only attract mold, but also pests and rodents. We highly encourage you to call us for an inspection (it’s free) and then see the true extent of the damage we’ll later help mitigate.
Should You Remove Mold on Your Own?
For small mold problems, you can try to remove mold and mildew yourself with white vinegar and warm water.
Typically, this would include a mold-damaged area no larger than 10 feet. If there’s more mold, you’ll need our help.
But an additional concern for everybody struggling with mold is where it came from.
If the perpetrator was water damage behind a wall or beneath the floor, then you’ve got more on your plate, and just scrubbing mold off the wall won’t do much, as it will quickly come back because the root cause of it hasn’t been mitigated.
Also, if you feel sick when standing near mold, you’re likely dealing with a more hazardous mold species, in which case we recommend we takeover so you don’t risk your health.

More FAQs
Mold removal is covered if the cause of its growth was a “covered peril”, which would include accidental water damage like a burst pipe or washing machine leak. However, unless you have additional covered for flood damage under a separate flood insurance policy, mold from flooding is not going to be covered.
Mold removal can take anywhere from one day to five days, depending on the severity of the situation.
It’s hard to tell. Costs are determined not only by a mold specie and how much mold is there but also by its location. It will cost less to remove bathroom mold than to remedy mold from a crawl space or other hard-to-reach areas underneath the house.
Yes, of course. With our mold remediation services, you can rest assured that mold won’t come back because we’ll tackle the root cause of the mold issue which, as we’d said, is usually a water leak.
We do not offer mold inspection or mold testing as a standalone service. When our experts arrive, they’ll carry out a quick assessment of what they’re dealing with, but we do not do mold lab tests. You’ll need to call us after you’ve already done this with another company.
